Day 12: figure studies and foreshortening too

A bunch of fish with bird beaks because I saw many crows and pigeons eating up shrimp corpses and bread slices – someone was sneakily feeding the birds..

I’m a tad overwhelmed today so trying to focus too :’)

Reflecting and rambling / currently Kimo has ended

Yay I survived Kimo and got the short lived Winners role haha!!

Also shown is how many acorns (server currency) I earned. I was too busy to do stalls for art trades though, I just focused on art quests and learning/doing art. Everything else was extremely too much to juggle. Whelp that’s a wrap!!

I don’t know if I can keep up with all the post kimo discord servers and I don’t have time to post my art or messages in all of them. I’ll have to test things out but I probably will stick to my own blog, bluesky, cara, discord server, etc the most because I don’t want to post my work at other places all the time (don’t want to be spread too thin and to enjoy others’ posts too!) I’m probably more likely to share at other servers randomly or a lot more if I have my own channel to spam to ;P

Anyhoo I’m grateful to the artist community and the mods for being inspiring and wonderful!! I’m not that social and it was very overwhelming and crowded at times with people but it feels less isolating doing and learning art with other artists online as an autistic hermit ❤️

I hope to see people around at the lifeboat server(s) and next year’s kimo!

A small handful even joined my super tiny server – thank youuuuu!! :’D

I still need to do some loose ends/dailies/catch up with learning even after kimo! I’m still a tad behind :0

I feel like I need to go back to doing them so I can finally say I’ve done it all…just not during March because life, work, sleep, stress and decompressing keeps happening. I was struggling with my sleep schedule due to juggling real life drama/stresses and this art challenge too.

When I’m done with all the studies I’m behind on, I plan to do a timelapse video of all the art studies I did related to kimo 7!! I’m going to take my time with it though so no youtube video anytime soon :0

But yeah I don’t know how I would juggle kimo better next year – it’s been super intense and not in favour of my timezone!! I feel like I need to be more picky with dailies and which quests to do but I didn’t because I wanted to go ham :’)

But yes I’m glad they finally have a bluesky this year (again I missed out joining some kimo years because they were on twitter and instagram – which I left behind). I wasn’t sure if I was going to do kimo but I’m glad I did because it gets lonely learning art. Finding an artist community is not easy – people move on and have priorities :’)

I don’t even know if I can juggle the handful of servers I joined – some are true communities, some just started and others are centred on one artist (like my tiny one) and I’m less inclined to join those if I don’t resonate with the artist and their work. There’s some where a popular, skilled artist has hundreds/thousands of members though – I’m less inclined to be active at big servers too when it’s overwhelming. Gosh I might have to leave some more servers if it doesn’t work out for some of them…

Anyhoo I do not have the fuel to do pleinapril that just started – I wish there was a month break in between so I can recover and then I can try it out. I’ll just do painting at my own pace instead I guess! I also need to practice some 3D blender :<

Finally note that I will still be slowly posting my backlog of kimo studies for a long while yet as I’m currently at day 15 of 31! And I’ll be spacing it out so I have at least 1-3 days off from posting – I note people are not active on Sundays for my timezone. We’ll see how I go with studies!
