Wishing you all the best Terunofuji η…§γƒŽε―Œε£« pt 1 πŸ’ͺSumo wrestler studies!

I didn’t know he’d be retiring today!! The Kaiju Yokozuna!!

I’m honestly glad and relieved he’s finally retiring (as much as the annoying media is pressuring him to for years) so he can take care of his health better, make the most of his life with family and not always push himself when he’s already injured with his spine and broken knees and managing his diabetes. A whole career of injuries, disease, health issues and yet he kept pushing through in order to reach this point as one of the highest ranking wrestlers (it’s tremendously difficult to become yokozuna). Here’s more context.

And I was always anxious when he has to wrestle when he’s not doing great in recent years and I don’t want things to get worse for him. Will he actually get artificial knee joints when he’s supposed to by now for his destroyed knees? I hope he does!! πŸ™

He has a grumpy faced toddler son that looks just like him and he was giving him flowers too haha

Yes I’ve drawn more of him so you’ll see some more study pages in times ahead ;P

Not sure if anyone’s interested in a sumo wrestlers study compilation video but it’s just boring “you get what you’re told” and too chill to be youtube entertaining πŸ™

I’m not cut out for “high value entertaining/educational” youtube and I prefer writing and blogging :’)

I actually did these Terunofuji doodles in 2023 but I wasn’t sure when to share them…I guess it’s today after all.

Yes this was when he released that singing video!

I have a lot more sumo wrestler/rikishi (εŠ›ε£«) studies to share but I’m spacing it out in the coming year!! It won’t always because there’s a sumo tournament happening (like it is right now) ;P

I wasn’t sure if I should share these also because I usually do game art and fanart things…but hey I want to do other art things, studies and enjoy doodling sumo wrestlers. One of my current drawing fixations? I suspect people don’t care but ah well I’m just sketching and won’t share these on LinkedIn at least. And I’m more focused on my blog anyhoo.

For those new, the context is that I’ve been roughly watching sumo tournaments since March 2020. So I’m just finally allowing myself to share more about it via studies of sumo wrestlers I find cool :’) Yes I know there’s history of negative stuff and politics behind the cultural tradition and sport but I am not the right, knowledegable person to discuss about it. I am super glad that people are now being trained to provide medical assistance in recent tournaments to prevent any further unnecessary losses of life and worsening injuries!!

I didn’t expect to post these studies early (today) but here we are!
