Digital Fanart Friday Doodles: Mario 3DLand & Kirby Mass Attack

The following are some traditional doodles I decided to practice digital techniques/programs on during the last week of December 2011. Loads of trial and error! And also because I played Super Mario 3D Land and Kirby Mass Attack.

1) Based on the trailer for Luigi's Mansion
2) Based on an old Paper Mario 2 doodle I did
3) Based on how the tanooki/raccoon costumes on Luigi and Toad are hilarious
4) Based on Super Mario Bros. Wii when my bro kept jumping on my head when playing coop

Skyward Sword Portraits VIII: Grannie of the Ages & ramble

Did this on the 24th of December 2011. No photo reference this one.

I started these portraits, intending to practice and Skyward Sword kept me motivated. (:

This is the eighth and last one I did. I still wonder how she sees when her eyes are not visible. This is also my second time I drew her from scratch because my first attempt turned out horribly like a sagging pumpkin face!

There is no more to come for the portraits series. See this tag [Skyward Sword Pencil Portraits] for the rest of the series.

LoZ Skyward Sword Portraits VII: Guardian of Time & notes

Hey there!

In the past few months I increasingly cannot deny that I should do my comics digitally [at least for the colouring] as completely traditionally drawn comics [at least by me] do not look good on a computer screen [not saying that it looks brilliant in the first place of course; I've still got much to go] as well as it does in person and do not catch the attention of web viewers as well as digitally coloured and/or drawn comics do [unless you are already a professionally skilled traditional artist; which I am not!]. It makes me think I'd need to put even more effort to each thing I do and strive for quality and not quantity. Still, I am still self studying traditionally in drawing before I think I should go for digital methods. But I am impatient all the same!!

Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Portraits VI: Groosenator of Legend

Well it's February now...don't know yet for sure what this year will bring still; limbo's been going for far too long. Anyway, back to blogging...

Sketched this during playing the game but only finished it *after* completing the game on the 15th of December 2011.
It's based off a photo by cabit in this figure drawing resource [I can't directly link to it]: http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php

I started these portraits, intending to practice and Skyward Sword kept me motivated. (:

This is the sixth one I did. Groose turned out to be so awesome that even "awesome" is perhaps an understatement. See him with his wonderfully groomed hair and glory.
